This exclusive event will be attended by 300 of the Bay Area’s major philanthropists, legal and business leaders, and civil rights pioneers, coming together to honor and celebrate one of ERA’s most popular programs, The Strong Girls Initiative.

To thrive economically, girls need a good start. They need educational opportunities that are equal and not limited by gender stereotypes that drive them away from science and math. They need equal opportunity to grow leadership skills and discipline and have access to scholarships through sports. And all kids need to feel safe enough to learn, free from gender based bullying, sexual harassment, and assault on their school campuses.

ERA is an organization committed to ensuring equal access and opportunities for girls, through innovative partnerships with girls and schools and important policy reform initiatives improving educational experiences at both the K-12 and collegiate levels.

The Montclair Women’s Big Band is a Bay Area treasure. Founded in 1997 by veteran trumpeter Ellen Seeling and saxophonist Jean Fineberg, the group is an alliance of some of the region's most formidable jazz women. Forging a singular blues-drenched sound with a deep Latin pocket and captivating original material, audiences are electrified by the band's powerhouse ensemble, addictive grooves and inspired solos.
